Ricky Gervais has joined the star-studded cast of Spy Kids 4 - where he will play a dog.
The British funnyman will be lending his vocal talents to Argonaut, a robot spy dog in Spy Kids: All The Time In The World, in the forthcoming fourth instalment of the Spy Kids franchise.
"I'm playing a comedy mutt, and it's so much fun as they're are letting me go crazy with it," he said on his website.
Ricky earlier told Coming Soon blog: "Not only am I lending my voice to Spy Kids, but they can keep it. I'm sick of it."
In the 3D family adventure, to be directed by Robert Rodriguez, the comedian joins an impressive cast list, which includes Jessica Alba, Antonio Banderas, Jeremy Piven and Joel McHale.
The fourth film, to be released in the US in August, sees retired secret agent Marissa (Jessica) trying to save the world from the maniacal Timekeeper (Entourage actor Jeremy).
