Krysten Ritter has announced that she will star in the Veronica Mars movie.

The Breaking Bad actress played Gia Goodman in the TV show and announced on Twitter that she would reprise the role in the movie.

She tweeted: "G-G-G-Gia!!!! I'm thrilled to be reprising my role of Gia Goodman in the Veronica Mars movie!!! It's gonna be very juicy."

Krysten played Gia from 2005 to 2006 for eight episodes and credited the show with giving her a break into acting.

In a longer message she talked about her excitement at the prospect of making Veronica Mars the movie, which was funded by a kickstarter campaign.

She wrote: "Veronica Mars has a special place in my heart because it was my first big acting job (!!!!!!) and it was also one of the most lovely on-set experiences you could ever ask for.

"This will truly be an awesome shoot, not only because we all get to be reunited (can't WAIT!) but because of the revolutionary way this all was able to come to life!"

Other actors signed up to appear in the film include Kristen Bell as Veronica and Tina Majorino, Francis Capra, Brandon Hillock, Kevin Sheridan, Jonathan Chesner, Sam Huntington, Amanda Noret, Daran Norris, Chris Lowell, Percy Daggs III, Jason Dohring and Enrico Colantoni.

Veronica Mars the movie is slated for release in 2014.
