Rock to star in Finally Famous

Chris Rock will direct Finally Famous

Chris Rock is to star in and direct comedy Finally Famous.

The US funnyman, who has also written the script, will poke fun at his fellow comedians in the upcoming movie, reported Showbiz411.com.

The 48-year-old will play Andre Allen, a comedian who wants to reinvent himself as a serious actor in the new film, which would mark his third stint in the director's chair following Head Of State and I Think I Love My Wife.

The search is on for a love interest for Chris' character.

Filming is scheduled to begin in June.

Chris - who is best known for his voice role as Marty the zebra in the Madagascar movies - will next reprise his role in Grown Ups 2 alongside Adam Sandler, Kevin James and David Spade.
