Sam Rockwell is in talks to star in black comedy-thriller Better Living Through Chemistry.
The Conviction star is set to take over from Jeremy Renner, who has decided to focus on his upcoming commitments to Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy, reported Variety.
Sam would play a strait-laced pharmacist, who decides to escape from his unhappy marriage with his wife (played by Michelle Monaghan) by having a secret affair with sexy trophy wife (Jennifer Garner). Things turn messy when their affair escalates and the cheating couple hatch a plot to murder her husband.
The film, the big-screen debut from writer-directors Geoff Moore and David Posamentier, will feature Dame Judi Dench as a narrator.
Michelle has previously spoken about her excitement over the forthcoming role.
"It's a really great script. I play the wife, and she's a really anal, uptight - it's a character I've never really played before, but she's in there, believe me," she told The Playlist.
"I'm gonna find her! It's a great movie, I'm really excited about that one."
