Rogen: Townies is too rude now

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have revealed that they need to make some edits to Townies, because it is "too gross".

The upcoming comedy, directed by Nicholas Stoller, stars Seth and Rose Byrne as a married couple and new parents, whose quiet life gets disrupted by a frat boy (played by Zac Efron).

"We just finished filming it and we actually watched it last week for the very first time on a laptop computer. It's really funny," said Seth, who also produces the movie.

"It's pretty funny and gross. It needs to be toned down a bit. By the time you guys get it, it'll be great," he added.

Producer Evan - who wrote and directed apocalyptic comedy This Is The End with Seth - added: "It's the first time we've watched one of our movies and thought, 'This is gross, this is too much'. But no one will ever see the too gross version. We'll edit it."

Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, New Girl's Jake Johnson and Lisa Kudrow also appear in Townies, which is due to be released in 2014.

"It's with me and Rose Byrne - we play a married couple with a new baby, that lives next door to a fraternity that moves in, led by Zac Efron. At first we get along, and then we start to hate each other, and go to war basically," Seth explained.

:: This Is The End is in cinemas now.
