Roth to direct Crowe in Harker

Eli Roth is rumoured to be in talks to direct Harker.

The Hostel filmmaker could be reunited with Russell Crowe, following their previous collaboration on The Man With The Iron Fists, for the Dracula spin-off, reported Deadline.

Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra came on board to take control of the Warner Bros film, but Eli is poised to take over since the Spanish filmmaker is busy with action thriller Nonstop.

It would mark Eli's first return to the director's chair since 2007's Hostel: Part II.

Russell - who is filming Tom Hooper's Les Miserables with Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway - is said to be taking the iconic role of Dracula.

The film, which is expected to start production in 2013, follows Scotland Yard detective Jonathan Harker as he tries to track down the blood-sucking vampire, and could be the first film in a franchise.

Eli, who has appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds and Piranha 3D, has written and produced martial arts film The Man With The Iron Fists, which stars Russell, Lucy Liu and RZA.
