Mickey Rourke is joining the dark comedy Seven Psychopaths, according to reports.
Deadline said that the movie role means that The Wrestler star will not be reprising his role in The Expendables 2.
Mickey appeared alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li in the first Expendables film, reportedly as a favour to director Sly.
The star is in talks to star with Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken in Seven Psychopaths, Deadline said.
The film will see In Bruges star Colin play a screenwriter in Los Angeles struggling to write his script, called Seven Psychopaths.
He gets drawn into the dognapping escapades of his friends, played by Sam and Christopher.
When the beloved Shih Tzu of a psychopathic gangster goes missing, the screenwriter suddenly finds all the inspiration he needs for his screenplay, if he can stay alive to write it.
The Expendables 2 has just begin filming with Sly, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, and John Travolta is also rumoured to be on board.
