Ryan Kwanten is to play an ex-con in a new Aussie crime thriller.
The True Blood actor and Animal Kingdom star Sullivan Stapleton will play two men who burn down a nightclub, killing 15 people, in Cut Snake, reported Deadline.
Australian actress Rachael Taylor will also star in the film, which was inspired by a real-life incident when a club in Brisbane was torched in the 70s.
Work on Cut Snake - to be directed by Tony Ayres - is expected to start next year.
Ryan's upcoming movie projects include Hands Of Stone and Five Good Years, while Sullivan has been cast in a lead role in 300: Rise Of An Empire, a prequel to the 2006 film 300.
