Ryan Phillippe joins By Virtue Fall

Ryan Phillippe is reportedly set to star in the directorial debut from Sheldon Turner

Ryan Phillippe, James Spader and Carla Gugino have all apparently joined the cast of By Virtue Fall.

Eric Bana is already on board to play one of the two leads in the directorial debut from Sheldon Turner - who co-wrote the Oscar-winning Up In The Air - according to The Los Angeles Times 24 Frames blog.

Colin Farrell and Jeremy Renner have also apparently been in talks to play the other lead in the story of two US ATF agents, charged with enforcing the laws surrounding the sale of alcohol, tobacco and firearms, who end up enemies after one frames the other for a crime.

Colin is now attached to star in the Total Recall remake, and while Jeremy is scheduled to appear in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and The Avengers he is said to still be in talks to appear opposite Eric as his rival agent.
