Salma Hayek has revealed that her husband Francois-Henri Pinault has become more attentive and loving - after watching her slap Benicio del Toro in Savages.
The French billionaire got more than he bargained for when he popped onto the film set one day to watch the Mexican actress wallop her co-star around the chops as feisty cartel leader Elena in Oliver Stone's thriller.
"What was great about that is that I'm not normally like that. My husband came to visit me on set that day - he's a great husband, but since that day, he's even better. He looked so shocked!" she joked.
Her co-star Benicio added: "Her husband and I made a connection. Every time I got a slap, I looked at him."
Salma - who has portrayed strong females in Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and Frida - shrugged off the smack, explaining that it was just a little "reprimand" for Benicio's character, henchman Miguel 'Lado' Arroyo.
"You prepare the whole character and then you just put yourself in that situation. Benicio's character did something bad so that was an act of generosity, because normally I would have killed that person," she said.
