Sandra Bullock is in talks to star in the remake of Annie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Blind Side actress is in early talks to join Jamie Foxx and Beasts Of The Southern Wild Oscar-nominee Quvenzhane Wallis in the update of the classic musical.

The Oscar-winning actress would play Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage where Annie (Quvenzhane) lives.

She is said to have been in talks about the role - played by Carol Burnett in the 1982 movie - in March but turned it down at the time.

Django Unchained star Jamie is set to play wealthy benefactor Benjamin Stacks, a variation of the Daddy Warbucks character who adopts the orphan.

Directed by Will Gluck, the film, being made by Sony with producers including Will Smith and Jay-Z, is due out at the end of 2014.
