Sandra Bullock suits NY premiere

Sandra Bullock attended the premiere of Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close

Sandra Bullock made a welcome return to the red carpet, in a black satin trouser suit and poker straight hair.

The Oscar-winning starlet chose to wear Alexander McQueen at the New York premiere of her new film, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, where she posed with co-stars Tom Hanks and Thomas Horn outside the Ziegfeld Theatre.

Sandra - who was last seen in 2009's The Blind Side, for which she won the best actress Oscar - admitted she doesn't mind playing a small part in the film.

"I'm actually in there for about 24 minutes. Strategically-placed moments," the 47-year-old told US talk show host Matt Lauer on the Today Show.

"I've already had those moments. There might be more, but I don't know how many moments like this there will be. With stories like this, with directors and casts like this... you can't say no to that."

Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, directed by Stephen Daldry, focuses on the journey of a young boy (Thomas) looking for answers in the aftermath of his father's death on 9/11.

Sandra listened to the voicemails that were left behind from people trapped in the towers for their families as preparation for the role.

"It's haunting and it's inspiring that the last message, inevitably, was one of hope for the families left behind," she explained.

The film, which also stars Viola Davis, John Goodman and Jeffrey Wright, opens in the UK on February 3 2012.

Virgo:

Read the fine print on a contract. If you're not happy with the proposed terms of a deal, renegotiate. Don't be afraid to drive a hard bargain. You may not realise it, but you have a great deal of power. People are willing to pay good money for someone with your intelligence and experience. If you undersell yourself, you will set a dangerous precedent. Someone will ask you to do something that goes against your conscience. Obey your principles, even if it means making an enemy.More
