Scarlett: Avengers has mini-movies

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson has said working on The Avengers felt like making her own little spin-off film.

The Lost In Translation star plays Black Widow in Joss Whedon's comic book movie The Avengers with an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L Jackson and Mark Ruffalo.

Scarlett revealed to Collider.com: "It's a different process to going all the way through. I don't know if it's better or worse... We all feel like we're doing our own little movies."

She added: "It's something strange about coming into work and then having little chunks of time off.

"Or stuff when we're learning fights and nobody else is there and you come back to work."

Hurt Locker star Jeremy, who plays Hawkeye, admitted he'd like to have more time working with the rest of the cast.

He said: "It makes it pretty separate. That's something I don't like because everybody has their own thing going on. I get to work with Scarlett a lot which is great. But otherwise I've seen Downey twice on the entire shoot."

Jeremy insisted he hadn't thought about starring in a spin-off movie, but admitted he'd like to.

"It's so far in the future," he said. "This film isn't even in the can yet, let alone any sort of spin-off and that requires a lot of success in a lot of different ways.

"But the possibility is probably there, yes."
