Scarlett dazzles at Venice festival

Scarlett Johansson poses for photographers in Venice

Scarlett Johansson stole the show at the Venice Film Festival premiere of her new movie.

The Hollywood star walked the red carpet at the screening of Under The Skin dressed in a cleavage-bearing black Versace dress and sparkling Bulgari jewels, with her blonde locks in an elegant up-do.

Scarlett, 28, spent time posing for pictures with the film's director Jonathan Glazer and also signed autographs for fans.

In the film, the Lost In Translation star plays a sexy alien on a road-trip through Scotland, seducing and destroying men along her route. Over the course of her journey she begins to gain some sensitivity and human emotion.

Scarlett said that to be an alien she had to abandon "these very human instincts that we have, protecting ourselves and wanting to protect one another".

Under The Skin is among 20 films competing for the coveted Golden Lion award.
