Scorsese's mega-watt short film

Martin Scorsese is making a short film boasting an all-star cast of Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

The Oscar-winning director is making the Casino-themed short as part of a promotional campaign for Melco-Crown Entertainment (MCE), according to Deadline.

The project will see Scorsese reunited with his long time collaborators De Niro - who he has worked with on eight films including Taxi Driver and Casino - and Leonardo, who has made five films with the director, most recently earning a Oscar-nomination for his performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street.

De Niro and Leonardo worked together on This Boy's Life in 1993, and De Niro was so impressed he recommended Scorsese meet with him.

The project will mark a first time collaboration with Brad Pitt for the director.

The script was written by Wolf Of Wall Street scribe and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter.

The film will premiere next year at the opening of Melco-Crown's newest movie-themed resort Studio City in Macau, China.
