Scott wants to make football drama

Ridley Scott is reportedly hoping to make a movie about America's National Football League (NFL).

The Prometheus director wants to show the debilitating effects of concussion on athletes, and the role league owners play in allowing it, reported Deadline.

Sports fan Scott apparently came up with the idea for what is expected to be a "morality tale" on the issue after hearing about what some football players have been through as a result of trauma to the head.

There has been a lot of interest around the topic of concussions recently, with more and more former players opening up about the long term damage to their health.

The filmmaker is currently looking for a writer to pen the movie.
