MTV is moving forwards with a pilot based on the comedy horror films, which starred Canadian actress Neve Campbell as a girl being hunted by a killer, Courteney Cox as a reporter and David Arquette as a deputy sheriff.

While plans are still in the early stages, MTV is hoping to unveil the series in the summer of 2014.

While its not known whether any of the film's original stars will appear, it seems the franchise's original director Wes Craven is in talks about taking the reins of the pilot episode.
