James Russo is set to reunite with Johnny Depp on Scott Cooper's Whitey Bulger biopic, Black Mass.
The pair, who last worked together in Public Enemies, will return for the upcoming drama, but this time, they will find themselves working against each other, reported The Wrap.
James will play FBI agent Scott Garriola, the leader of the FBI's fugitive task force who brought the notorious Boston gangster to justice, while Hollywood heartthrob Johnny is on board to play the mobster.
Black Mass, which is directed by Out Of The Furnace and Crazy Heart's Scott, would mark the fourth collaboration between Johnny and James, following their previous work on Donnie Brasco, The Ninth Gate and Michael Mann's gangster drama Public Enemies.
Joel Edgerton has been cast as FBI agent John Connolly, Benedict Cumberbatch is Whitey's brother Billy Bulger, with Sienna Miller as Whitey's girlfriend Catherine Greig. Jesse Plemons is to play his right-hand man Kevin Weeks.
Adam Scott, Dakota Johnson, Corey Stoll, Juno Temple, Jeremy Strong, Julianne Nicholson and W Earl Brown also have roles in the Warner Bros crime drama, which is shooting in Boston.
Black Mass is expected to be released in 2015.
James was last seen in Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti Western, Django Unchained, where he played slave driver Dicky Speck.
