Sean Penn to play conman in film?
Sean Penn apparently wants to reunite with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for Flim-Flam Man: The True Story Of My Father's Counterfeit Life.
The Oscar-winning actor-director, who previously worked with the Mexican filmmaker on 21 Grams, is said to be "taken" with playing the lead character - a bank robber, arsonist, fraudster, addict, counterfeiter and swindler - in the film, which is based on Jennifer Vogel's memoir, reported Vulture.
The real-life story, which could be renamed Red Flag, is undergoing negotiations for funding.
Sean was set to work with Leonardo DiCaprio on Alejandro's The Revenant, although Leonardo is now in talks to reunite with Martin Scorsese for The Wolf Of Wall Street.
Adapted from Michael Punke's historical novel, the story focuses on an 1820s fur trapper who was mauled by a bear.
Leo is reportedly still interested in The Revenant, with a start date pushed back a year to August 2013.
