Seyfried joins Peter Pan movie

Amanda Seyfried will play Mary in the Peter Pan film

Amanda Seyfried has been cast in the upcoming Peter Pan movie.

The Lovelace star will play Mary in Warner Bros' live-action re-telling of JM Barrie's classic tale.

Amanda, 28, will be reunited with her Les Miserables co-star Hugh Jackman, who is playing Blackbeard.

Garrett Hedlund and Rooney Mara star as Hook and Tiger Lily in the film, which starts shooting next week.

Pan, which will be directed by Atonement's Joe Wright, will tell the story of young orphan boy Peter Pan (played by newcomer Levi Miller), who is spirited away from London to the magical Neverland.

The film is scheduled for a release in July 2015.
