Amanda Seyfried has revealed she would love to star in a comedy film.
The Red Riding Hood star had her movie breakthrough as Lindsay Lohan's hilarious bimbo friend Karen in Mean Girls, but has since appeared in romantic love stories, thrillers and musical Mamma Mia!. She now wants to go back to being funny.
Amanda said: "I'd like to do a full on comedy. I mean I did a long time ago, but it wasn't really a super-heavy role. So I'd like to do that again. That would be a challenge.
"I do feel like I need to prove to myself that I can do it."
The 25-year-old actress has made nine films since she starred in Mamma Mia! in 2008 but insists she enjoys it so much it doesn't feel like hard work.
Amanda said: "I feel like I still lead a pretty normal existence otherwise. It's extraordinary to be on film sets, and working that many hours and having as much fun as I do, and travelling, but I get enough time off.
"Even though I feel like I haven't really stopped working since we started shooting Red Riding Hood. And it came out so quickly and I went straight into another film and I just finished that. And now it's out and I feel like I've had a lot of time off.
"I mean, I haven't, but I guess I make it count when I do have a few hours to myself."
