Sheeran wants gritty Skagboys role

Ed Sheeran wants to show off his acting chops

Ed Sheeran has revealed he would like a role in Skagboys, the Trainspotting sequel.

The A-Team singer, who performed at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, wants to show fans a different side to him on the big screen.

"If I ever did anything, I'd love to do something like Skagboys, a gritty Brit flick," he told The Sun.

"Because I'm a bit clean cut and a bit smiley, it would be good to do something very out of the ordinary."

Ed - who has also had hits with You Need Me, I Don't Need You, Lego House and Small Bump - already has some acting experience under his belt, but reckons he needs more practise first.

"I did National Youth Theatre when I was 16. I can hold a tune but my acting is not quite up to the same standard yet," he added.

The 21-year-old has also revealed he is planning to collaborate with One Direction in the studio.

"I wrote a couple of songs when I was 17 that One Direction want for their next album. I'm going into the studio in August to produce the tracks for them," he told Perez Hilton.
