Shia LaBeouf has said the new Transformers film will be his last in the franchise.
The actor, who plays boy-next-door Sam Witwicky, said he was "done" with the action-packed series, adding that he doesn't "have anything new to contribute".
Speaking at the opening of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon at the Moscow International Film Festival, Shia said he did not know if "there's anywhere to take Sam, really".
Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers 3 also stars Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely.
The film has not surpassed box office sales of its predecessor, according to its distributor.
Paramount Pictures said the third film in the franchise took in 42.3 million US dollars on its opening day.
Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, which starred Megan Fox, took in 62 million dollars on its opening day
The disparity between that movie and the new one is even deeper considering 60 per cent of revenues for Dark Of The Moon came from pricier 3-D tickets. That means the audience was even smaller than for the 2-D Revenge Of The Fallen.
