Jack Nicholson movie The Shining might be getting the prequel treatment.
Studio Warner Bros is apparently considering making a follow-up to the hit 1980 psychological horror film, reports The Los Angeles Times.
Laeta Kalogridis and her partners Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt are attached as producers on the project, which a spokesman has said is not formally in development yet.
Although plans are in the very early stages, it's thought the film would focus on what happened before Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) and his family arrived at the Overlook Hotel, where the events take place in the classic movie.
The Shining, which also starred Shelley Duvall and was directed by Stanley Kubrick, was based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
