Singer Sabrina Washington denied romance with former Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning when she was booted out of the I'm a Celebrity jungle.

The couple's closeness has prompted speculation since the show's launch but the former Mis-Teeq singer last night claimed they were "just friends."

She refused to answer when the show's hosts, Ant and Dec, repeatedly asked if she fancied Manning and replied: "We're just friends just like everybody else in the jungle."

Washington, who lost a public vote against TV interior designer Justin Ryan, smiled broadly when she was told to leave the camp and said she was "really, really happy".

The singer said she had an "amazing" time but was relieved she did not have to face any more trials after she was covered in slime and thrown into a vat of fish guts during a Bushtucker Trial called Memory Misery.

"It was much harder than I expected," she said of her time in the jungle.

But the singer added: "It has changed me. I'm not scared of heights. I'm not scared of anything."

There was a snake in the camp as she left and she said none of the celebrities had reacted.

"Two weeks ago I would have been screaming," she said.

Asked who she would like to win, Washington initially said celebrity cleaner Kim Woodburn, despite their early disagreements, but then added: "I'd like any of them to win, all of them deserve it."

The campers were earlier left in tears when they were given letters from friends and family.

Ryan received a letter from his real-life and television partner Colin McAllister who was the second celebrity to leave the jungle.

The letter, read by Washington, said: "You have always been and always will be a king to me.

"Let's get married again."

Speaking to the camera afterwards, Ryan said: "It's only two years since we did it the first time but the answer - if he wants to do it - is and always will be 'yes'."

Ryan described his time in the jungle as a "really magical experience.

"I'm a different man from the one I was.

"I like me better than I liked me before, so much better," he said.

Before Washington was named as the latest celebrity to leave the camp she spent an evening with Manning and chef Gino D'Acampo in a Jungle Karaoke Bar.

They sang Mis-Teeq's hit Scandalous before the boys serenaded her with a version of Tom Jones' Sex Bomb.

"They were funny. I nearly peed my pants," she said afterwards.

The trio beat Ryan, Woodburn and snooker star Jimmy White by answering questions on news events during their time in the jungle.

D'Acampo was later seen sharing some of the peanuts from the bar with the losing team members but he claimed they must have fallen in his pocket accidentally while he was singing.

One of the questions answered correctly by the winning team was who had dumped her partner live on television last week, Katie Price or Peaches Geldof.

Manning said: "Well it's going to be Peaches Geldof because Katie said that Alex is coming out here."

But then he added: "Something inside me says Katie has the nuts to do it."

The team correctly opted for Price and Manning said: "Knew that girl would do it."

D'Acampo later said of Price: "I know that she's a strong woman.

"I still believe in life no matter whatever people do to you there are some things that should be kept by yourself and your relationship.

"Some of these things shouldn't be shared to all the world especially on live television. Katie does what Katie wants to do."
