Sir Anthony on side of the FBI
Sir Anthony Hopkins is being lined up to star in another film about a serial killer - but this time he'll be on the side of the law.
The veteran actor famously won an Oscar for playing murderous Dr Hannibal Lecter in The Silence Of The Lambs, in 1992.
According to Variety, the Welsh-born star is in final negotiations to join the crime thriller Solace, as John Clancy, a former doctor with psychic abilities who works for the FBI as they try to hunt down a serial killer.
No director has yet been attached to the film, made by New Line, Variety said.
But Peter Morgan, who penned Oscar-winning Helen Mirren film The Queen, wrote the latest draft of the screenplay.
Sir Anthony recently starred as Odin in Kenneth Branagh movie Thor and played an exorcist in The Rite. He next stars with Jude Law and Rachel Weisz in Fernando Meirelles film 360.
