Sky is in negotiations with both RTE and TV3 to make their programmes available for its new on-demand service.
Launched yesterday in Dublin, Sky On Demand allows Irish viewers access to content from over 50 channels, how and when they want it.
However, Sky said that due to the popularity of home-produced shows with viewers in Ireland, they were keen to add content from Irish broadcasters.
"We're talking to RTE and TV3 with a view to including their content on our On Demand service in the new year," said Mark Anderson, director of sales and marketing at Sky Ireland.
The deal could see home produced RTE and TV3 series available on-demand, not just in Ireland but in the UK too.
Negotiations are ongoing but both Irish broadcasters are said to be keen to make their content as widely available as possible.
Along with the week's best TV on-demand, Sky On Demand will also include a library of TV box sets and over 1,000 movies to rent.
