Smith: I'm keen to do more movies

Sheridan Smith would like more film roles, although her real love is theatre

Sheridan Smith has revealed she'd love to make more films.

The actress, best known for parts on TV shows such as Gavin And Stacey and stage roles including Legally Blonde, can be seen on the big screen in star-studded new movie Quartet.

"I started in theatre and then I've been doing a lot of telly and now I'm starting in the film world. I'd love to do more film roles," she said.

"It's just nice to be able to have a go at everything. I think theatre was where my heart is really. When you make a movie or a TV performance you never really know whether people have enjoyed it that much whereas with theatre you get to meet them at the stage door and there's that kind of part of the magic."

The 31-year-old - who first appeared on TV in the sitcom The Royle Family - added: "I'd love to do more movies but I don't know if I can top this, working with Dustin and (Quartet co-stars) Dame Maggie and Sir Tom Courtenay, Pauline Collins, Billy Connolly, Michael Gambon."

No matter how stringently your loved ones warn you, that won't stop you pursuing a romantic interest. You're utterly captivated by someone who exudes warmth, charisma and drama. If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
