Will Smith could be playing a slave in Quentin Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained.
The Hitch star is being considered by the filmmaker to take the titular lead in the follow-up to Inglourious Basterds, although no official offer has been made yet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Samuel L Jackson and Christoph Waltz, who have worked with Quentin before, are also said to be in talks for major roles in the film, billed as a "spaghetti Western about a slave who teams up with a German bounty hunter to search for his wife".
Oscar-winner Christoph, who made his Hollywood debut in Inglourious Basterds, is set to be the bounty hunter with Samuel as a rival slave, who faces off with Django.
Quentin is thought to be aiming for an autumn shoot, with the exact location yet to be determined.
Will has been keeping busy with two sequels - he was filming Men In Black III, where he will reprise his part as Agent J opposite Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K, and is set to start work on Bad Boys III with Martin Lawrence.
