Sorkin prepared for disappointment

Aaron Sorkin says writing a script about Steve Jobs is a daunting task

Aaron Sorkin has admitted he's ready to disappoint with his script on the late Apple founder Steve Jobs - because it's like "taking on the Beatles".

The award-winning screenwriter of The Social Network said that he's still at a very early stage in coming up with ideas for his script.

He confessed at the All Things Digital conference in California that in tackling the subject, he is prepared for a "minefield of disappointment".

Aaron, who brought Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to the big screen in The Social Network, said: "It's a little like writing about the Beatles. There are so many people out there who know so much about him and revere him."

He said he would be making "a painting, not a photograph", as "Steve Jobs is a big enough person and led a big enough life for make multiple movies".

An actor has not yet been cast in the role, but Ashton Kutcher is tipped to play Jobs in a separate biopic.

Jobs died, aged 56, from pancreatic cancer in October last year.
