Sorkin to receive writing tribute

Aaron Sorkin is set to be honoured with a screenwriters prize at the Nantucket Film Festival.

The Oscar-winning writer and producer will be presented with the award by Emily Mortimer, who stars in his TV series The Newsroom, at a ceremony on June 28.

The 52-year-old joins the likes of David O Russell, Nancy Meyers, Judd Apatow and James Schamus who have received the annual tribute in previous years, reported Variety.

Aaron's writing credits include The Social Network, which he won an Oscar, Bafta and Golden Globe for, as well as Moneyball, Charlie Wilson's War and A Few Good Men. He has also been successful on the small screen with The Newsroom, The West Wing and Sports Night.

He is currently working on the screen adaptation of Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson's biography of the late Apple co-founder.

Aaron has also been busy writing three scripts for DreamWorks.
