Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino has revealed she has considered giving up acting for her other passion - campaigning for human rights.

While saying she loves acting, she describes her efforts to stop human trafficking as her "calling".

Mira said activism is so important to her that "in a decade or so, I wouldn't mind just switching to a career in humanitarian causes."

The Romy And Michele's High School Reunion star has been extended as the UN Goodwill Ambassador to Combat Human Trafficking.

The 45-year-old won an Oscar as a prostitute with a golden heart in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite.

She's had meaningful roles in over 50 films and TV productions in her career, and holds a Golden Globe and a host of nominations reserved for the world's best actors and actresses.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Pisces:

Keep precious possessions safe. Don't leave valuables in a parked car; instead, stow them in the boot. Lock your doors. Create passwords that are hard to crack. Simple measures like these will save you a world of trouble. The last thing you want is to waste time filing police reports. If you do become the victim of theft, stay calm. Ask the authorities what you can do to protect yourself from future crimes. Smart decisions are your best defence.More
