Spall pleased at kid-friendly role

Rafe Spall has admitted he is pleased to have finally made a film which is appropriate for his kids to watch.

The actor, who has appeared in films such as Shaun Of The Dead and Prometheus, stars in festive family flick Get Santa and said he loved making something that would hopefully remain a classic.

Saying he'd enjoyed working with child co-star Kit Connor, he added of filming: "There's not many times in your life when you can say that you've flown a sleigh, that's a real thrill.

"Knowing that my kids are going to be able to watch this film and being able to finally do a film that is appropriate for my children to watch is a really nice thing, because most of my body of work isn't."

He added: "Knowing that not only will they be able to watch it this Christmas, but many Christmases to come, that's the lovely thing about Christmas films is that they sustain, they're always there for you, and they're one of the things that get you in the mood for Christmas, so that was really lovely."

Get Santa is released in cinemas on December 5.
