Spider-Man spin-off films announced
Spider-Man bosses have announced details of two spin-off movies set in the web-slinger's world.
Sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man - starring Andrew Garfield - are already in the pipeline, and last month it was revealed Sony were planning to explore other character's in Spidey's universe in a series of new films.
It has now been announced that two movies focusing on Peter Parker's enemies - Venom and The Sinister Six - will be made.
According to website ElectroArrives.com, the studio has hired writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon and Drew Goddard.
They will collaborate with director Marc Webb and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach on expanding the superhero's story.
Venom will focus on the black costumed villain who appeared in the third Spider-Man movie of the Sam Raimi trilogy, while The Sinister Six will be about other baddies in the franchise.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be out in 2014, with the third instalment in 2016 and the fourth film in 2018.
It isn't known when the spin-off films will be released.
