Star honour for Dern-Ladd family
Laura Dern, her father Bruce Dern and mother Diane Ladd have been honoured during a ceremony along the Hollywood Walk of Fame - marking the first time three stars were dedicated to family members at the same time.
The pink terrazzo stars were unveiled alongside each other outside the W Hotel Hollywood along Hollywood Boulevard.
"I ask the universe that these three stars right here - when I'm dead and gone or if I'm still alive - that whoever comes and looks at it or stands on it, may the energy of the three of our lives permeate into their foundation and help each and every one fulfil their destiny with joy and love, as I wish for you," 74-year-old actress Diane told the crowd.
Laura Dern, who has starred in such films as Jurassic Park and October Sky was born in 1967 to Bruce and Diane, who were married for nine years and have both since remarried.
It's not the first time the family has made Hollywood history. Laura and Diane both received Oscar nominations in 1992 for their roles in Rambling Rose, the first time a mother and daughter had nods together.
Diane has also received Oscar nominations for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and Wild At Heart, while Bruce Dern was nominated for Coming Home.
Laura said her husband, musician Ben Harper, who filed for divorce from the 43-year-old actress last month after nearly five years of marriage, came up with the idea of the family being honoured.
