Stars come out for Potter premiere

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One, featuring Daniel Radcliffe, will have its world premiere

Daniel Radcliffe and the rest of the Harry Potter cast are set to attend the world premiere of one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year.

The cast and crew of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One will be in Leicester Square, London, for the seventh film in the hugely successful series.

They are set to include Daniel, who has starred as the bespectacled boy wizard for the past 10 years, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who play his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

The film tells the story of Harry's final battle against the evil Voldemort and will be followed next July by the concluding chapter in the saga, based on JK Rowling's best-selling books.

It marks a transition from the previous films in that the wizarding school Hogwarts, which the trio attend, does not feature at all. Instead, it shows Harry and his friends searching for the Horcruxes, the secret to Voldemort's immortality.

Thousands of fans are expected to turn out on Thursday night to catch a glimpse of their screen heroes, all hoping the evening is not a repeat of last year's wash-out that saw the film's stars drenched with rain as they arrived on the red carpet.

In an interview with the BBC, Rupert described the final films as "the end of a real era", with Emma saying the last day of filming had been "overwhelming". She added: "It just felt like the end of a world, a world of mine."

Daniel, who is now set to appear in a Broadway musical and takes the lead role in a film version of ghost story The Woman In Black, said of his time as Harry Potter: "I was given this mind-blowing opportunity at the age of 11, not just to work with these amazing people but also to have the chance to learn on the job."

The film is to be screened simultaneously in both the Odeon Leicester Square and Empire Leicester Square cinemas.

It has been directed by David Yates, who previously directed Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, and will be released nationwide on November 19.
