Steinfeld to play Ender's Game?
Hailee Steinfeld is said to be in talks to join sci-fi thriller Ender's Game.
The Oscar-nominated actress is apparently being offered the role of Petra Arkanian in the movie version of Orson Scott Card's sci-fi epic alongside Hugo star Asa Butterfield, who has been cast in the lead role as Ender, reported Variety.
The 14-year-old - who scooped her Academy Awards nod for her performance in the Coen Brothers' True Grit - would play "a gifted young gamer skilled in strategy and logistics who's recruited by the government to help battle an insect-like alien race".
Harrison Ford is still in the mix to play one of the older characters in the film, rumoured to be Colonel Hyrum Graff, the commander of training for the International Fleet, an elite boys' military academy.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Gavin Hood will be directing the big-screen adaptation of Orson's novel.
Hailee is also playing Juliet in two upcoming films - a faithful Romeo & Juliet adaptation, which is expected to start shooting in 2012, followed by a spin-off called Rosaline.
