Stevens signs up for The Cobbler

Dan Stevens has racked up yet another Hollywood movie role following his Downton Abbey success.

The British actor, who played Matthew Crawley in the ITV period drama before being killed off in last year's Christmas special, has signed up for indie drama The Cobbler, reported Variety.

It comes days after he was cast alongside Robin Williams and Ben Stiller in Night At The Museum 3.

Plot details for The Cobbler are being kept under wraps, but it is known that Dan will be joining Adam Sandler in the project.

Tom McCarthy will both write and direct.

Dan, 31, will be playing the character of Lancelot in the third Night At The Museum movie. His other upcoming movies include US drama A Walk Among The Tombstones and psychological thriller The Guest.
