Stiller in line for Chippendales
Ben Stiller is still in talks to star in I Am Chippendales.
The Zoolander star has been in negotiations to join the cast of the drama, which focuses on Paul Snider and Somen Banerjee, the founders of the male erotic dance troupe and their troubled partnership, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He would play choreographer Nick de Noia, who helped to come up with the idea for the adult entertainment show and turn it into a worldwide success.
Former True Blood and Six Feet Under creator and showrunner Alan Ball is directing and writing the movie, which is based on Rodney Sheldon's book.
The friendship between the show's creators Paul and Somen had a darker twist when the Indian-American entrepreneur was accused of murdering his business partner in 1987 and plotting the murder of attorney-film producer Bruce Nahin, another founder of the Chippendales. He was jailed, but his body was found in his cell in 1994.
Ben - who last starred in The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, which he also directed - has completed filming Noah Baumbach's While We're Young opposite Naomi Watts and is shooting Night At The Museum 3.
The 48-year-old is also in talks to direct The Current War, a fact-based drama about Thomas Edison's and George Westinghouse's battle over the supply of electricity.
