Emma Stone is rumoured to be starring in the long-awaited third Ghostbusters film.

The Spider-Man actress has been offered a role in the movie, according to website Schmoes Know.

Moneyball star Jonah Hill has also been earmarked for a part in the next sequel in the 80s franchise, which has been in the pipeline for several years.

They have reportedly been offered the roles of Anna and Jeremy, although it isn't known who those characters are.

However, it seems casting is still in the early stages and Emma and Jonah have yet to officially sign up.

Original Ghostbusters actor Dan Aykroyd has often said he would like to see a third movie about the paranormal investigators and their antics, and earlier this year suggested that shooting could start in 2014.

The actor, who played Dr Raymond Stantz in the first two films, previously said that Bill Murray would not reprise the role of Peter Venkman for a third outing.

It will be easier than you think to let your grip on the purse strings slip especially as the big day draws near. Let Christmas be about loving, sharing and giving. Spend quality time preparing food, making decorations and playing games together. If you haven't sent all your cards or round robin emails give some thought about what you will be sharing with others this year.More
