Stone 'in talks for Crimson Peak'

Emma Stone is in the frame for Crimson Peak

Emma Stone could be working with Guillermo del Toro on the thriller Crimson Peak.

The Gangster Squad actress is in early negotiations to star in the Mexican director's haunted house movie, Variety reported.

Plot details are being closely guarded while Guillermo and Lucinda Coxon rewrite the original script he created with Matthew Robbins.

Filming is expected to kick off in February 2014.

Meanwhile Emma - who joined Seth MacFarlane to announce last week's Oscar nominations - is also expected to start shooting Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 later this year.
