Emma Stone has revealed the first person to congratulate her on landing a role in the new Spider-Man reboot was Bryce Dallas Howard - who had played the same part in a previous version of the superhero tale.
The actresses were working together on new movie The Help when Emma found out she would be playing Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spiderman, and Spider-Man 3 star Bryce was quick to learn of the news.
"She was maybe the first person that came into my trailer. She banged on my door and said 'The internet is saying that you are Gwen Stacy'. And I had just found out," Emma told The Independent.
"They tell you that you're going to play Gwen Stacy and they say, 'It's going out in a minute and a half'. I had 90 seconds to go like this [she hyperventilates] and then it was all over the internet.
"So two minutes later, Bryce was like: 'Hi! Is this true?'"
Emma - who stars alongside leading man Andrew Garfield in the comicbook tale - said Spider-Man fans' enthusiasm was one of the best things about being involved in the much-anticipated film.
"That kind of passion is one of the most fun reasons to be involved with something like Spider-Man," she added.
