Streep scared of red carpet slips
Meryl Streep has revealed she is "terrified" of tripping up at awards ceremonies.
The Into The Woods star is set to walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes, where she has been nominated for best supporting actress for her performance as The Witch in the musical movie.
"I'm always terrified of walking the red carpet and failing to be witty with the entertainment press," she admitted.
The Oscar-winning actress has already decided on her outfit for the ceremony, but is worried that it would get lost amidst all her travelling.
"I believe I have something," she said. "I'm so in transit - I was in New York a day and a half ago, we're in London now and I'm going to Los Angeles tonight so I hope things arrive. Otherwise I'll be wearing this."
Meryl revealed she has a high storage space for her t rophies.
"I won an Oscar when I was 32 or 33, I don't remember. I put it up way high on a shelf so the little kids wouldn't be able to get it," she said. "They're very heavy and if you reach for it, it could hit you (on the head) so I put it away so they couldn't injure themselves."
Meryl's co-star Emily Blunt, who is up for best actress, said she is "nervous and excited" about the ceremony.
"Those things are always so absurd and different from your normal life. They're such a spectacle so in that way, I've learnt over the years to embrace it and play dress up because I never look like that most days in my life," she revealed.
"The Globes are fun - everyone gets drunk on really bad table wine. The Golden Globes are actually less uptight than some of them."
Emily also joked about having a trophy room to show off her gongs: "Can you imagine? I could show people as they come in. It's in the front hallway as people enter. But I've got most of them at my mum's house and a couple in LA."
The Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 11.
