Swank proud of 'messy' romance film
Hilary Swank says she hopes she's helped make a more realistic romantic movie.
The actress stepped out in Hollywood wearing her producer hat, having helped bring Kate Hudson and Big Love's Ginnifer Goodwin to the big screen with Something Borrowed.
"I think it's complex and messy, it's not shiny and wrapped up in a nice bow, that's life," the Oscar winner said at the film's glitzy premiere.
"We were huge fans of all the books," Hilary admitted, accompanied by her producing partner Molly Mickler Smith.
"[With] Something Borrowed, Molly's sister gave it to Molly and she gave it to me and we were just so excited to be a part of telling this story."
Hilary promised fans of Kate Hudson will get to see the actress take on a more edgy role, playing Darcy the bitchy and selfish friend to Ginnifer's passive and down-trodden Rachel.
"We always thought Kate from the very beginning for this role, that we got her was just a dream come true for us and Ginnifer, they did an extraordinary job," she told reporters.
