Tate joins comedy film Superbob

Catherine Tate has been cast in Superbob, according to reports

Catherine Tate has reportedly been cast in a new superhero comedy film.

The comedian will share the screen with Natalia Tena, Ruth Sheen, Laura Haddock and Brett Goldstein in Superbob, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.

The British film follows a London postman who "finds himself with superhuman capabilities after a radioactive meteor crashes to Earth".

He then struggles to balance his new responsibilities with his dating troubles.

Jon Drever will direct the movie, which is based on his own short film of the same name.

He said: "I feel so lucky that this story has attracted such a cast of brilliant comic actors and am having the time of my life working with them."

Superbob will start shooting in London this month.
