Channing Tatum is rumoured to be in "advanced talks" to star in disaster drama White House Down.
The 21 Jump Street star is said to be considering the lead in Roland Emmerich's upcoming thriller, which has been described as a cross between Die Hard and Air Force One, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Channing is tipped to play a secret service agent and single dad who must save the President when the White House comes under attack.
Zodiac and The Amazing Spider-Man writer James Vanderbilt has written the screenplay, with production expected to start in late summer for a 2013 release.
White House Down would be the second upcoming action film about the White House, after Olympus Has Fallen with Gerard Butler attached to star.
Channing - who will next be seen in raunchy comedy Magic Mike - is filming Steven Soderbergh's The Bitter Pill, and is preparing to show off his dramatic chops in Bennett Miller's crime thriller Foxcatcher opposite Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo.
He is also considering a role in the Wachowskis' sci-fi drama Jupiter Ascending, and is producing a Peter Pan remake titled Neverland.
