Tobey Maguire has joined Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin in Labour Day, according to reports.
Deadline said Tobey will play the adult version of the film's central character Henry, a 13-year-old who learns valuable life lessons over a five-day Labour Day weekend.
The former Spider-Man star will also narrate the movie, which is being directed by Jason Reitman.
The Paramount film, an adaptation of the Joyce Maynard novel, begins shooting this month in Massachusetts in the US.
Other previously announced cast, alongside Kate and Josh, include JK Simmons, Brooke Smith, Gattlin Griffith, and Brighid Fleming, Deadline said.
As well as directing the film, Canadian-American filmmaker Jason wrote the film script.
Tobey will next be seen in black comedy The Details, and then opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton in Baz Luhrmann-directed The Great Gatsby.
