Tom Cruise denies Star Wars talks

Tom Cruise has denied rumours he will cameo in the new Star Wars movie

Tom Cruise has insisted the force will not be with him as his rep slammed reports he was in talks to cameo in Star Wars Episode VII.

The rumour mill was abuzz with claims that the Top Gun star would be appearing alongside Harrison Ford in JJ Abrams' new instalment of Star Wars, which is currently being filmed at London's Pinewood studios.

But a spokesman for Tom told Entertainment Tonight Canada there is "no truth" to the rumours, adding it is "pure fiction".

Reports claimed Tom had recently flown to London to meet director JJ, who produced Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and is producing Mission: Impossible 5.

A source told The Sun: '"Tom has been in London for over a week and met up with JJ and some other people from Star Wars over the weekend.

"On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel.

"JJ produced M:I5 and loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance."
