Tom Hanks could soon be packing his bags for a trip to South America.
The Da Vinci Code star is mulling over one of the lead roles in Kathryn Bigelow's next film, Sleeping Dogs - formerly titled Triple Frontier - which is set in the organised crime zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, reported Deadline.
The website claims that Tom has been approached by the Oscar-winning filmmaker, but hasn't committed to the part.
Triple Frontier will start production early next year, and the search is on for the five lead roles.
Tom's next big-screen outing sees him reuniting with Charlie Wilson's War co-star Julia Roberts in Larry Crowne, which he wrote, directed and co-produced.
He will also star with Sandra Bullock in the Stephen Daldry-directed big-screen adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close.
