Tom Hiddleston has confessed he was so starstruck by Kermit the Frog that he forgot his lines in the latest Muppets movie.

The Thor 2 star plays Great Escapo in The Muppets Most Wanted, due out next year starring everyone's favourite puppet pals as well as appearances from Salma Hayek, Christoph Waltz, Lady Gaga, Tina Fey, Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais.

Tom joked: "I've not only shared the screen with Chris Hemsworth, but I've also shared the screen with Kermit the Frog, and it's down hill from here, that's all I can say!"

He added: "I actually almost got stage fright - I kind of dried, like my first take they said action and Kermit the Frog started speaking and I completely forgot what I was supposed to do, because I was on screen with Kermit the Frog."

The film sees the Muppets finding themselves caught up in a European jewel heist caper headed by a Kermit lookalike.

Tom is sworn to secrecy, but insisted: "It's a very small role, I should say. Tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny!"
